About

Michelle McMillan-Holifield is a poet from the American South who also pens short fiction, creative non-fiction, and occasional book reviews. She is a Best of the Net (2018) and Pushcart Prize (2018, 2025) nominee, semi-finalist in The MacGuffin’s 29th Annual Poet Hunt (2024) and was longlisted for the Dzanc Poetry Prize (2024). 

 

In addition to studying poetry at Delta State University in the Mississippi Delta, she is a former MFA Candidate at the University of Arkansas/Monticello,  former Assistant Editor for Edify Fiction and was accepted to a residency at Wildacres in North Carolina.
