Michelle McMillan-Holifield is a poet from the American South who also pens short fiction, creative non-fiction, and occasional book reviews. She's earned Best of the Net (2018) and Pushcart Prize (2018, 2025) nominations and was semi-finalist in The MacGuffin’s 29th Annual Poet Hunt (2024). Most recently, her manuscript was longlisted for the Dzanc Poetry Prize (2024) and finalist for the Wheelbarrow Books Poetry Prize (2026).
In addition to studying poetry at Delta State University in the Mississippi Delta, she is a former MFA Candidate at the University of Arkansas/Monticello, former Assistant Editor for Edify Fiction, and was accepted to a residency at Wildacres in North Carolina.
